A Recap Of The 2007 PFA National Bowling Tournament

This year’s Polish Falcons of America National Bowling Tournament is over, and I hope everybody had a good time in the Michigan region. It was definitely a pleasure to have each and everyone of the bowlers and their traveling friends with us.

This year’s Tournament featured 80 teams of bowlers. Many members bowled very well and some that did have probably already received their winnings as of press time and are pleased with their results.

Obviously, it takes many people to run a National Bowling Tournament, and I would like to start at the top. I would like to thank District XIII National Director Julia Serafin, who helped bring this event to our region. She was a super person, helping wherever she was needed and making sure everything was running smoothly even into the early morning hours.

Then we had Nest 31, Detroit, Mich., President Dennis Zembrzuski, who was also this year’s Tournament co-Chairperson. He was the records man for the bowling scores and also worked well into the evenings doing just about anything that needed to be done. I couldn’t tell you everything he did because he was never still for a moment!

Another person I would like to acknowledge is Joan Pawlukiewicz, who is the President of Nest 79, Southgate, Mich. Now she knows where to get anything you want. You want busses? She has contacts. You want food? She is a great cook and made sure that we had plenty of food for your enjoyment. You need a room at the hotel? Joan is the person who handled all of those details.

Granted, we had three important people who coordinated all of us working at this year’s Tournament, but we also had many other dedicated members from District XIII helping out during the event in so many ways. To all the District XIII members who assisted in any way to this year’s Tournament, I say a great big “THANK YOU” for everything you did to make this event the success that it was.

Now that this year’s Bowling Tournament is completed, we here in District XIII look forward to hosting the 2008 Polish Falcons of America National Convention. We will also be here for this year’s National Zlot, which will be held July 24-29 at Orchard Lake Schools in Orchard Lake, Mich. No matter what event you plan on attending next, we can’t wait to see you back again soon!
