Looking For Help With All Kinds Of Books

By Dodie Piersielak

I have been busy working on one of our Cultural Commission’s projects, which is our Falcon Coloring/Activity Book. Back in June, I asked our membership for assistance in getting this project completed. Three young ladies offered to create a few pages for the book’s coloring section. We can still use more help. You do not have to be a professional artist. If you feel you have some talent in drawing, please contact me either by e-mail.

The PFA Marketplace is going great. What an easy way for you to find books with a Polish theme. This month you will see that we are offering two nonfiction books. “The Last Mazurka” is a nonfiction offering that is written as a novel. A good friend of mine, John Stenclik from Nest 52, Rochester, N.Y., has already read this book and offered to write a review, which can be found in the August issue of the Sokol Polski. If you have read any of the books that have been offered from the PFA Marketplace and would like to write a review for the Sokol Polski, contact me at the information listed earlier in this article and we’ll get the process started. Remember, if there is a book you would like to see offered, let me know and I will see what I can do to make others aware of your selection.

Don’t forget that October is Polish American Heritage Month. What are you doing in your Nest or District? Please share with us your plans. If you need ideas, then head over to polishamericancenter.org. Once there, click on the icon toward the left side of the page that says “Polish American Heritage Month.” This will take you to a page with a variety of links to help you out, including one that says “Things to do during Polish American Heritage Month.”
