Ladies Day Out Benefits Cancer Research
By Sue Sieczkarek, Nest 6, Buffalo, N.Y.
On October 7, Nest 6, Buffalo, N.Y., held its annual Ladies Day Out. This is a yearly luncheon and basket auction to benefit breast cancer research. This year, we had 50 ladies attend. Each attendee received a complimentary favor and gift bag from Avon, lunch and a chance to win one of more than 80 baskets and three special raffle items.
In addition, there was a presentation from Allyson Odachowski, a registered dietician. Allyson gave the ladies some insight on nutrition and answered many of their questions. There was also a massage therapist, Tanya Stoklosa, who provided chair massages with her proceeds being donated back to the charity.
This event’s chairperson was Jill Stark, who reported that $1,000 was raised from this event and sent to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.

A Brief History Of General Club Improvements
By Lori Stoklosa, Nest 6 Recording Secretary
Do you know about all of the improvements that have been made over the last few years to the Nest 6 Club? Thanks to the initiative of our Building Committee, headed by Bob Sieczkarek, the Club has become a newer and better place. In 2003, a sound system was installed throughout the Club, which is very useful for playing music and making announcements during events. In 2004, the outside deck was rebuilt and new tables and chairs were added. In 2005, new carpeting, a dance floor and linoleum was installed in all the rooms. Last year, the outside bar on the deck was redone, which included a new tile and wood top. This year, an air conditioning system was installed throughout the Club, making hot summer days and nights very comfortable and insect-free.

Notes Of Varius Nest 6 Activities
By Lori Stoklosa, Nest 6 Recording Secretary
On March 10, members from Nest 6, Buffalo, N.Y., visited the nuns at the Villa Maria home. As always, it was a pleasant experience for everyone involved, and the nuns were appreciative of the gifts we brought them.
Our Easter Swieconka Celebration was held on April 18 in conjunction with Nest 6’s General Meeting. It was a nice way to end the Easter season.
On April 22, Nest 6 held its annual Spaghetti Dinner. Proceeds went toward the Nest’s youth trip to this year’s National Zlot. Thanks to all that came to support our youth programs. And speaking of our Falcon youth, the Nest 6 children’s gym classes have grown by leaps and bounds! Our Tiny Tots class now has 16 participants and our next age group has increased to 14. Our older members are preparing for this year’s Zlot, which will be held in July at Orchard Lake, Mich.
