New Menu Items Featured Every Friday

Don’t forget that the Nest 610 Club in Erie, Pa., serves fish and pierogi dinners every Friday from 4-7 p.m. Many new and exciting menu items, including children’s options, have been added. Carry-out is available and we are always open to the public. The Club’s address is 431 East Third St. in Erie and can be reached by phone at (814) 452-6146.

Remember that DJ Benny performs every Saturday at 9 p.m. for your listening and dancing enjoyment.

Nest 610 Honors Rose Niedzwiecki

The tables were turned on Rose Niedzwiecki when family and friends gathered at the Nest 610, Erie, Pa., Club to honor her with a surprise “happy hour” gathering a few days shy of her 76th birthday, which was June 28.

Known for her outstanding Polish cooking, “Babe” Niedzwiecki has endeared herself to scores of Nest 610 members and visitors during her 25 years of service at the Club, which is located at East 3rd St. in Erie.

Approximately 80 guests were on hand with best wishes for “Babe.”

Druh Richard Crishock A Longtime Nest 610 Member

Nest 610, Erie, Pa., member Richard Crishock of Arlington, Va., passed away on June 16 at the Virginia Hospital Center. He was 68.

Druh Crishock was husband of Bruna Crishock; father of Thomas and Louis Crishock and Mary Jones; and grandfather of Elizabeth Jane and Margaret Olivia Crishock, Richard Douglas and Savannah Jane Jones. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Patricia Crishock, a son-in-law, Dr. Treacy Jones, and his sisters, Mary Ann Barbieri, Eleanor Bixby and Dorothy Peterson, two brothers-in-law, Joseph Barbieri and Richard Peterson, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. One sister, Sr. Mary Ellen Crishock, and two brothers, Walter and Thomas Crishock, preceded Druh Crishock in death.

Graveside services and interment were held at Arlington National Cemetery on July 31. Memorials may be made to Camilla Hall Nursing Home at 1145 King Road, Immaculata, PA 13945 or St. Joseph Villa, 110 West Wissahickton Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031-1922.

Druh Chester Loncki Was A Purple Heart Recipient

Nest 610, Erie, Pa., member Chester J. Loncki died April 17 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 82.

Born on November 11, 1924, the son of Frank and Mary Loncki, Druh Loncki was drafted right out of high school and served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-46. Druh Loncki participated in the D-Day landing on Omaha Beach and received the Purple Heart for a wound suffered at St. Lo.

Druh Loncki was a very dedicated and active member of St. Hedwig Parish. He served as lector, usher, sacristan and Eucharist minister.
During the 1940s and 1950s, he played accordion with a local polka band and later played the “Polish Wedding March” for his nieces’ weddings on their way to church.

Druh Loncki was a life member of Nest 610 and received the Gold Legion of Honor Award for his distinguished service. He was also a Nest 610 Club trustee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sisters Theresa and Mary.

Druh Loncki is sadly missed by his loving wife Regina Mielnik Loncki, son Gary Loncki, daughter-in-law Katrina, daughter Mary Jo Loncki Sulecki, son-in-law Bob, and four grandchildren: Matthew and Aaron Loncki, and Robert and Bethany Sulecki.

Also surviving are sisters Eleanor Kaminski, Florence Grygier, Rita Garczynski, brother-in-law Frank, brother Arthur Matczak, sister-in-law Irene, as well as other in-laws, nieces and nephews.
