In Memoriam [11/21/07]
Remembering Druhna Eleanor Pakosz
By Gregory Czechowicz, Nest 946 President
It is with great sadness that Nest 946, Somerville, N.J., mourns the passing of our member Eleanor Pakosz, who died on Sunday, October 14, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., at the age of 55, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in England, Eleanor lived in Middlesex, N.J., and was a customer service representative for Chubb & Son in Bridgewater, N.J., for 20 years. Earlier, she worked for AT&T in New York. Eleanor was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Bound Brook, N.J.

“Ela” joined Nest 946 in 1991 and was a former Nest and District I Lady Vice President and a dedicated member who worked on many Nest events. She was involved in numerous organizing committees and was always ready to lend a hand.

She was kind and caring, and she and her constant smile will be sadly missed by Nest 946 and all who knew this remarkable woman. She was predeceased by her father Matthew Ciuksza.

Nest 946 sends our condolences to Eleanor’s husband Henry, daughter Liz, son Henry M. Jr., mother Albina Ciuksza, brother Stephen, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Andrzej and Danuta Pakosz.

Eleanor was laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, N.J., with many Polish Falcon members attending the funeral on Saturday, October 20.

May she rest in peace.

Gabriella Czechowicz.

Nest 946 Mourns The Passing Of Frank Cichon
By Gregory Czechowicz, Nest 946 President
Nest 946, Somerville, N.J., is mourning the passing of member Frank Cichon, who died suddenly on Thursday, March 29, at the age of 73.

Frank Cichon.

Frank, who joined Nest 946 in 2001, was a dedicated member, often lending a hand in many of our efforts, which included helping pack and carry to a local travel agency many packages that Nest 946 sends to orphans in Poland. He also worked on several Falcon Ball committees helping to decorate the Polish Falcon Camp Hall. Frank often proudly carried the Falcon flags in New York City’s annual Pulaski Day Parade and was a fixture on all of our bus trips. We fondly recall Frank bringing the delicious “paczki” to our meetings, even this last time at our March meeting.

Nest 946 sends our condolences to Frank’s wife Halina, his daughters Barbara and Ewa, sons Michael and George, and his grandchildren. His funeral, which was on Tuesday, April 3, was attended by many Nest 946 Officers and members. May he rest in peace.
