IPA Will Celebrate 40 Years In January
Chicago (PMN)—The International Polka Association (IPA) celebrates its 40th year of existence in 2008. To begin the year of celebration, there will be a gala dinner-dance on Saturday, January 19. The event will take place at Polonia Banquets, 4604 South Archer, Chicago, Illinois. It features dinner, a silent auction and musical entertainment by Danny Mateja & the Downtown Sound. Reservations can be made by calling (312) 315-2215.
Then, on Sunday, January 20, the festivities continue at the IPA’s annual Chicago Festival of Polka Bands, the largest full-day polka event of the winter months. This one day event boasts some of the Midwest's finest polka entertainment. It takes place at the Glendora House, 10225 S. Harlem Ave., Chicago Ridge, Illinois.
Bands scheduled to perform include Midway Cavaliers, Downtown Sound, Stas Bulanda & Old School Review, Jimmy Kilian’s Honky Band, Music Company, Joe Walega’s Happy Hearts, One More Tyme, Freeze Dried and the E-Z Tones from Indiana. January is National Polka Month. So polka fans are encouraged to save the dates of January 19-20, 2008, and join the IPA at the celebration.
