2007 PFA Junior Bowling Tournament

Junior Bowling Tournament Rules And Regulations
The 2008 Polish Falcons of America Junior Bowling Tournament can be held at any time during the months of January through April. District scores are preferable, and only one set of scores is acceptable for each participant. There is a new entry form this year. It is available here.

We will give first-, second-, and third-place medals with a minimum of eight entries per division. The entry fee is $2 per participant. Make checks payable to “Polish Falcons of America” and enclose the check with the entry forms.

For your convenience, the PFA Junior Bowling Tournament rules have been printed below. Reference materials used are the YABA rules. Please read all materials carefully so that we can conduct an effective tournament.

Please send all completed entries to Chris Puskar, 404 Fort Couch Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241. If you have any other questions, I can be reached by phone at (412) 831-6297 or by email.

Good luck to all the participants in this year’s tournament. Have fun!

Tournament Rules
1. All bowlers must be Polish Falcons of America benefit members for a minimum of 45 days.

2. Revised divisions and rules for our tournament are stated and included.

3. Separate events will be held for both boys and girls in all age divisions.

4. Age divisions:
a. Peewee: Minimum age is 3. Maximum age is 5.
b. Bantams: 6-8 years of age.
c. Preps: 9-11 years of age.
d. Juniors: 12-14 years of age.
e. Majors/Seniors: 15-18 years of age.

5. Individual’s age as of March 1, 2008, will determine age classification.

6. All participants must bowl in their own age divisions.

7. All participants may participate only once in this tournament.

8. Only Peewee and Bantam bowlers bowl with bumpers. Bumper bowler’s scores will be based on two games.

9. All other participants must bowl three games to qualify for an award.

10. Average rule: Use the highest current league average as of December 31, 2007, for at least seven league sessions. Bowlers with less than 21 games, or seven league sessions, will be classified as scratch bowlers. The Tournament Manager will add the handicap to the raw scores of the scratch bowlers using YABA guidelines.

11. Individuals will bowl on one weekend of their choice from January through April at their own Nest or District establishments.

12. Peewee Division: The child must be able to pick up the bowling ball off of the rack and carry the ball to the foul line. The child can roll the ball with two hands, with or without bumpers. No parental or adult assistance is allowed in carrying the ball to the foul line. Please follow this rule.

13. Bumper bowlers will follow all of the above guidelines.

14. Check-in time is 30 minutes before scheduled bowling time.

15. Tardy bowlers shall begin with the frame the team is in when they arrive. Place a zero in each frame missed.

16. Suitable attire must be worn.

17. Only bowlers and tournament officials are allowed in the playing area.

18. No smoking or foul language.

19. Coaching and refreshments are not allowed in the SETTEE area.

20. Each game must be bowled on a pair of lanes.

21. Foul lights must be in operation.

22. Awards will be given for first-, second- and third-place finishes per division with a minimum of eight entries.

23. Coaches are to mail their results to Physical Education Director Chris Puskar within three days of their tournament.

Youth Bowing Results Now Part Of Larger Tourney
The Polish Falcons of America recently have joined with the Polish National Alliance, the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America and the Polish Women’s Alliance to form an annual Polonia Youth Bowling Tournament.

All scores from our annual PFA Youth Bowling Tournament will be sent to the Polonia Youth Bowling Tournament, and these scores from our youth members will go up against scores from the young members of these other organizations. Please note that there is no need to adjust how your Nest handles its Youth Bowling Tournament. Just send in your information to Co-National Physical Education Director Chris Puskar.

For more information, National Second Vice President Robert Gorny can be reached by phone at (575) 876-4581 or by e-mail.

Results From The 2007 Youth Bowling Tournament
By Chris Puskar, Co-National Physical Education Director
From January through April of this year, our Falcon Youth were at their local bowling establishments participating in the 2007 PFA National Junior Bowling Tournament. This allows Nests without gym classes to participate in our National Youth Program.
