Even though the 52nd National Golf Tournament is now a fond memory, I will be writing several blogs to spotlight happenings from the golf tournament for the next few weeks.
Obviously, an enormous thank you to Tournament Chair Greg Wieser, Nest President Bob Sulecki and Members of Nest 610! Congratulations to all of you on a fabulous job! The golfers were very pleased with everything (well, maybe the weather Thursday didn’t make folks happy!) regarding the tournament. Numerous folks complimented the shirts, the food (thought it was the best ever!), the entertainment, the hospitality, the bags received upon arrival and the friendliness of the Nest Members. Plus, they got a kick out of the bowling lanes!
Traveling trophy displayed at Nest 8
This year, we added a few extras to the National Golf Tournament. One of the items was a traveling “trophy” for the Nest with the most participants. This year, that award went to Nest 8, Pittsburgh-District IV with 19 participants! Not only did Nest 8 sponsor a hole and send so many golfers, the Nest was extremely generous with donations. Golfers were asked to bring a backpack to donate to St. Martin’s Center. Nest 8 brought 48 backpacks, 36 canned goods and $30.00 cash!! This made me cry!! (This is in addition to all the support given to Nest 610.)
I had miscalculated the amount of time it takes to input scores. Nest President Jimmy Paterni helped me with that. When Jimmy needed to take a break, Nest Treasurer Cheryl stepped in.
Thank you so much for the tremendous amount of support from my Nest. (FYI-Nest 8 presented me with my silver Legion of Honor the previous Sunday!)
