This is a District Convention year with the Conventions to be held between March 1 and October 1. The Constitution allows Districts the option to have one either every two or four years. At their last Conventions, Districts VII & XIII had voted for a four-year term, so they won’t be meeting. They will still need to hold two Plenary Meetings.
Districts who do have a Convention will only need one plenary meeting (you may have more if you desire) this year.
For those Districts holding a Convention, please let Courtney or me know so that your information may be posted to the District page of our site. The host, date, time and place need to be shared with us.
Courtney worked on the page last week (polishfalcons.org/districts) and has provided the information given to her; each District is listed. When you click on Number of Delegates under your District, there is a list of the number of Delegates that each Nest may nominate to attend the Convention in addition to the Nest slate of Officers. The Nest Officers include the Nest President, both Vice Presidents (if the Nest has both), Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Nest Instructor or Instructress.
Also included with the forms on the page is a sample agenda. This agenda is suggested and may be modified to suit the District.
Other forms relevant to the District Conventions are posted including mandate forms for Delegates, Nest Officers and District Officers.
A list of committees is also posted, but there again depending on the type of Convention, you may not need all of these Committees. If you do choose to have committee meetings, it might make sense for these Members to meet prior to the Convention.
All Delegates must be in Good Standing with their Nest and National Dues current. They also need to have been a Benefit Member for at least one year prior to the Convention.
