In September 2022, the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) opened an exhibit which celebrated the 135th Anniversary of PFA’s founding in the United States. This fantastic exhibit was hosted by the Casimir Pulaski Museum which is in Warka, Poland, south of Warsaw, and was open through the end of March 2023. The exhibition is open once again, this time at The Museum of the Battle of Warsaw 1920 in Radzymin, Poland. The artifacts will be on display until October 10, 2024.
In 1887, Chicago saw the birth of the Falcons, a fraternal benefit organization bringing together people from the Polish community in the patriotic spirit and with strong focus on physical fitness. Both were seen as a way of helping Poles, at that time living in partitioned country or scattered abroad, unite and recreate Poland’s statehood. Within thirty years, the Falcons had their “Nests” throughout America and were headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa. When the home country was fighting for its independence, over 20,000 of its Members joined Haller’s Blue Army in France and the Polish Army.
The exhibit, “Strengthen Your Arm – Serve Your Fatherland,” features Polish Falcons of America memorabilia – artifacts, photographs and documents – which offer an insight into the organization’s goals and mission, its history and achievements of the leading Members.
