VP Trish: Steve Jablonski Charity Ride

March 15, 2023

This April 21-23, 2023, Nest 493 (Batavia, N.Y.) Member Steve Jablonski and his son, Jack (named after his grandfather, John), will be riding in the Face of America cycling challenge to Gettysburg, benefiting non-profit World T.E.A.M. This inspiring two-day ride unifies civilians with both retired and active military, first responders, and adaptive military veterans and civilians from across North America, and beyond.

The ride starts in Arlington Cemetery and ends in Gettysburg, Pa. Talk about history!

Approximately one in eight people in the United States have some form of a disability. Over 706,000 members of the American Armed Forces are seeking or receiving service-related injury compensation since 2001. World T.E.A.M. recognizes these exceptional service members and makes a special effort to provide exceptional outdoor sporting challenges, and support to injured veterans.

For more than 25 years, World T.E.A.M. has used athletics to challenge men, women, and children with disabilities to accomplish goals they never thought possible. In all programs – whether mountain climbing, biking, white water rafting or many other sports – both adaptive and able-bodied participants are included.

This is the fifth year for Steve. Steve’s neighbor had been in Washington, D.C. a few years ago and saw this event. He mentioned it to Steve and Steve decided to participate.

Steve is 59 years old and his son is 25. This is so awesome that they will bike ride 110 miles in two days! Both have been Members since they were kids!

John and I made a donation and think it would be wonderful if other Falcons (Members, Nests, Districts) would support this worthy cause! Our fraternal mission is to help within our communities. This is the perfect way to do so! Please support Steve and Jack’s efforts by donating towards their fundraising goal to change a life. Thank you!

Czolem!
